About Dr. Singh is a scientist with a passion for sample preparation and material development. He received his B.Sc. in chemistry and M.Sc. in organic chemistry from HPT Arts and RYK Science College, affiliated with the University of Pune in India. He then went on to earn his PhD from the Defense Research and Development Establishment in Gwalior, India, where he worked on developing functionalized magnetic materials for off-site detection of chemical weapons. After completing his PhD, he moved to the University of Waterloo as a postdoctoral fellow, where he worked with Prof. Janusz Pawliszyn on coatings and their applications in solid phase microextraction. He then worked with Prof. Lynn Vanhaecke at Ghent University in Belgium, where he developed devices for untargeted metabolomics in precision medicine. Currently, he is a senior scientist at the University of Vienna, working with Prof. Gunda Koellensperger on devices and methods for single cell metabolomics. His research interests include sample preparation, material development, method development, 3D printing, and instrumentation, with a focus on environmental and bioanalytical applications of coatings in various formats for off-site and on-site analysis. He has published numerous papers, given presentations at international and national conferences, and has been listed as an inventor on several patents.
